AFAS Software is a family-owned business based in the Netherlands that is passionate about serving customers and inspiring entrepreneurs. We develop innovative software products for the business market while also fulfilling our social responsibility.
AFAS Software was founded on April 1, 1996, as a management buy-out from Getronics by Piet Mars and Ton van der Veldt. Originally named 'AFAS automatisering,' the company was later renamed to AFAS Software in 2002. The name AFAS stands for Applications For Administrative Solutions.
Since 1996, our mission at AFAS Software has been to develop software for consumers and businesses in a socially responsible manner, where customers, employees, and the environment are at the forefront. Our complete vision is described in the book 'OPB' (in Dutch).
Our AFAS Foundation is dedicated to helping others fulfill their dreams. We believe in supporting projects that have a significant impact on people's lives and inspire others to participate. Our foundation strives to achieve sustainability, quality, respect, and transparency in all our endeavors.
As the software development and artificial intelligence fields continue to rapidly advance, we recognize the need to adapt and innovate. That's why we are working towards a future where users define the software's requirements and the program writes its own application. Our department is solely focused on developing this future-ready technology, which we call AFAS Focus, our newest generation ERP-application.
Instead of coding software, we use natural language to model a business, and a fully automated generator creates a platform and device independent application. This approach will provide numerous benefits, such as faster time-to-market, lower costs, and greater flexibility. We are dedicated to realizing this vision, and have assembled a team solely focused on this unique challenge.
